The late Spaulding Gray referred to a book he wrote as the “monster in the box.” He did a great monolog about how writing it had consumed his life. I’ve only been writing for five weeks on my first book, and already I know how he feels.
I’m writing “Employment Law for Paralegals.” (Glamorous, no?) While I’ve written 75 page documents before, an entire book is a whole new level of undertaking. Even when I’m not writing, I’m thinking about it.
I’ll try not to let it consume me as it did the hapless Mr. Gray.
